The efficacy of using class blogs in post-covid 19 face-to-face English communication classes

Abstract: This ongoing research investigates how a class blog activity facilitates English communications among first and second year university students in post-Covid Face-to-Face classes. The study suggests that communicating digitally with classmates in the early stage of the semester seems to 1) alleviate students’ anxieties and 2) facilitate speaking activities in Face-to Face classes.

An example of mixed methods research (MMR) of applied linguistics in longitudinal convergent design

Abstract: This presentation starts with a brief overview of MMR and goes on to an example. In this study, I investigated two psychological constructs in language learning, school belonging and L2 motivation, employing MMR. Quantitatively, I analyzed survey data and qualitatively, I analyzed students’ comments and interviews.

Applying the case method to ethical decision making and problem solving in science and engineering

Abstract: In business school, the case method requires the students to put themselves in the role of the protagonist in a business case and make decisions and solve problems. The case method could be used in CBD to teach students to make ethical decisions in science and engineering.
