My research and teaching interests are mainly focused on improving communication in science and engineering. In research, I build analytical corpus tools that can be used to understand the structure and language of research papers and presentations, and in teaching I focus on skills and strategies that students can use to effectively communicate their ideas. I also enjoy participating in government and industry projects, sometimes serving as a technical consultant and other times as a software engineer, web-designer, or project manager.
